Artist's Statement

My primary studio practice is oil painting that focuses on colour theory. I am interested in how colour represents and affects our experiences and environment, how colour is analogous to language.

I earned a degree in Cultural Studies before attending art school, so my work is influenced by social theory and the exploration of boundaries between self and other, logic and intuition, memory and dream. My creative process involves placing my philosophies, ideas and stories on canvas, assembled in forms of vibrant and periodically complex colour combinations.
