| Biography James Lane is a graduate of the Ontario College of Art and Design and is influenced by the Painters Eleven artists and the Action Painters (Abstract Impressionism in North America and Art Informel in Europe). He started his career as a graphic designer and ended it as a Creative Director in a design firm in Toronto. James has subsequently transitioned to an abstract art career. He recently participated in an international group show in Paris and has been invited back for a solo show in the spring of 2009.
My work inspires a collaboration between my spontaneity, instinct and intuition and your personal reality - providing alternatives to preconceived perceptions of reality. The imagery in my work can be interpreted by thought rather than matter representing an internal reality. In other words - my paintings inspire story-telling. Your story not mine. About Renewal... Renewal is something we all desire. But when it comes comfort levels are challenged. Renewal is moving out from the tried and true into the unknown. My Renewal series expresses the unchartered journey outward. |
