| Biography James Lane is a graduate of the Ontario College of Art and Design and is influenced by the Painters Eleven artists and the Action Painters (Abstract Impressionism in North America and Art Informel in Europe). He started his career as a graphic designer and ended it as a Creative Director in a design firm in Toronto. James has subsequently transitioned to an abstract art career. He recently participated in an international group show in Paris and has been invited back for a solo show in the spring of 2009.
The process is spontaneity. The goal is personal interpretation. My paintings inspire story-telling. Your story, not mine. My abstract art is all about spontaneity and personal reality. My goal is to stimulate you, the viewer, to relate to an image on your personal life experience level. Inspiring a unique form of collaboration between my spontaneity and your personal reality. Different languages and cultures expand the collaborative process. Spontaneous expression conceived in artistic instinct, intuition and innovation. |
