| Biography
Gail Fularski was born
in Brantford, Ontario in 1956. Residing in Toronto, she has worked as
an art educator for the last 27 years. Gail is captivated by
texture and loves the passionate physicality of working with rich and
dynamic tactile surfaces. This makes for a more compelling physical
presence. The spontaneity and random factor of working with
unpredictable chemical reactions is very appealing to the artist. Her
work takes on an evolutionary and intuitive progression. Gail's
artistic training in both Canada and abroad in figurative and abstract
studies has led to a compelling body of work. Artist's Statement: Concealing... Revealing... My series of pieces

inspired by my travels to Italy. A country rich in textures, its beauty
was often obscured or barely glimpsed. Peeling facades gave glimpses of
rich frescoes beneath; massive doors hid beautiful courtyards and
historic ruins were concealed by overgrown foliage. My canvases are richly
textured, somewhat evocative of landscapes and cityscapes. The surface
is worked up with acrylics and liquid iron which is chemically
oxidized. They are in multiple layers - some concealing… some
revealing...
