Raised in Sicily until she was seven, Carmela Grace would watch her grandfather paint. She was thrilled and excited as his creations evolved and developed.

After moving to Hamilton she began to understand that her skills were in the artistic area. She soon focused on the beauty around her. Expressing this in her art enabled her to develop her own spirit.

For many years she used her art as a healing process, as well as challenging herself creatively. This was expressed in her use of strong vibrant colours, and a natural blending of shades and highlights. Studying nature’s wealth of beauty in gardens and floral displays, Carmela created her Blossom Collection

Landscapes have inspired her artistic view, and represent freedom for her. She loves the positive energy that flows through her as she brings her vision to life on canvas.

Now she views nature in a holistic sense.

Fabulous mountain scenes with their structure, patterns and colours; nature’s clouds and skies are all echoed in her Freedom collection.

Her trips to the Rockies and the Southwest Region, have enhanced this emotion. The simplification of form and dramatic light effects in her work pull the viewer into a mystical realm and the image moves beyond a simple representation of nature.
